I can go to buy a finger ring
Let you on your birthday receiving
But I fail to find a handkerchief
For your tear drops wiping
I may move you to my heart bottom
Where your beauty would be firm
But I fail to prevent your youth from
Being rotten by the fleeting terms
I would become a light trow
To board you across the life flow
But I could not develop a land
All over happiness but no sorrow

我可以买一枚戒指
在你生日那天请你收起
我却无法买一只手绢
擦干你所有的泪滴
我可以将你搬到心底
在那里永藏你的美丽
我却无法阻止风雨的流年
将你的青春漫漫蚀去
我可以化作一叶小舟
载着你渡过这人生的河流
我却无法找到一片土地
那儿只有欢欣没有忧愁

I can buy you a ring
For your birthday,
But I can't buy a handkerchief
And wipe away your tears.
I may move you into my heart
Where your beauty is preserved,
But I mayn’t retard your aging
Due to passing years.
I will become a boat
And carry you across the river of life,
But I won’t find a land
Where is only joy without sorrow.
