PEOPLE

Once thou wert so sacred and holy
That so many martyrs
Devoted their lives for thee.

Later a devil stole thee,
Using thee in its propaganda,
But actually trampled thee under its feet.

The devil even made a gorgeous gown from thee
To cover its ugly look,
And pretended to be an angel.

人民

曾经这两个字神圣如斯
多少仁人志士
为它慨然赴死

后来这两个字魔鬼窃去
标榜供在心里
其实踩在脚底

魔鬼还把它做成了彩衣
遮掩丑恶身体
扮成人间天使

The word was sacred once
So that martyrs
Were glad to die

The word a devil stole later
And swore to keep it in his heart
But in fact trod it under his heel

The devil made a dreamcoat with it
TO cover his ugly body
And play a pretty angle
