写给儿子刘云帆  刘年

　　突然想到了身后的事
　　　写几句话给儿子
　　　
      其实，火葬最干净
　　　只是我们这里没有
　　　
      不要开追悼会
　　　这里，没有一个人懂得我的一生
　　　
      不要请道士
　　  他们唱的实在不好听
　　　
      放三天吧
　　我等一个人，很远
　　三天过后没来，就算了
　　　有的人，永远都是错过
　　　
　    棺材里，不用装那么多衣服
　　　土里，应该感觉不到人间的炎凉了

　　  忘记说碑的事了
　　　弄一个最简单的和尚碑
　　　
      抬碑的人辛苦
　　  可以多给些工钱
　　　
　    碑上，刻个墓志铭
　　  刻什么呢，我想一想
　　　
      就刻个痛字吧
　　  这一生，我一直忍着没有说出来
　　　
      凿的时候
　　  叫石匠师傅轻一点

　　清明时候
　　　事情不多，就来坐一坐
　　　这里的风不冷
　　　
      不用烧纸钱
　　不用挂青
　    我没有能力保佑你
　　　
      说说家事
　    说说那盆兰花开了没有
　  　说说最近看了什么书
　　  交了女朋友没有
　　　
      不要提往事
　　  我没有忘记
　　你看石碑上的那个字
　　  刻得那么深
　　　
      不要提国事
　　  我早已料到
　　  你看看，石碑上的那个字

Writing to my Son, Liu Yunfan by Liu Nian

I
　　I got an idea of my death
   So write something to you my son at once
　　
　　I believe , cremation proves the fairest
   But we here have not yet got the service
　　
　　Do not take a memorial meeting
　　For no body here understands me all my living
　　
   Do not employ the Taoist priests
　 For they chant sutras displeasing    　　
　　
   Reserve my body for three days
   Let me wait for a buddy, far away
   Once who would fail in three days, let it pass
   We have to let someone slip always
　　
　 Do not stack lot of clothes in my coffin
　 Beneath the clay it feels none of the world warm or cool

　　　Oh I forgot to mention the gravestone
　　　Only a plain one is right as a monk's
　　　　　
　　　Pay more to the stone-lifters
　　　For they work hard 　　
　
      Engrave on the stone an epitaph
      What words to write? Let me see  　　
　　
　  　Just a character “ache”
　　  For what is all my endurance to reveal none
　　　　　
　　  When they are chiseling
　　  Remind the stonecutters to be tender
　　
III　
　　　At each Tomb-sweeping Day
　　　Come here for a while to stay
　　　When it winds cosy 　　
　　
      Do not burn pilgrim paper
      Do not hang colored ribbons
      Unable to bless you I am
　　
　　 Just tell me our family chores
　　Whether the orchids are blooming
   What books you have read recently
   And you have made a girlfriend or not
　　
　　Never mention the past
　　I have not forgotten yet
   Look at that word in the gravestone
　 Which was carved so deep
　　
　　Never mention the nation affairs
　　For I had extrapolated them since
   Look at that word in the stone again
　　Which was carved so grave
