Gray pilgrim, you have journeyed far,

  I pray you tell to me

    Is there aland where Love is not,

  By shore of any sea?

For I am weary of the god,

  And I would flee from him

    Tho' I musttake a ship and go

  Beyond the ocean's rim.

"I know a port where Love is not,

  The ship is in your hand,

    Then plungeyour sword within your breast

  And you will reach the land."

  是否曾经见闻：

何处海滨，有一方乐土

  乐土没有爱神？

我已厌烦了这位神祇

  只想离他远点

我定要乘舟离开这里

  越过大海边缘

“有个海港不曾有爱神

  你须亲自操舟

刺己情心以无情剑刃

  然后你愿即酬”

译后记：这首诗音步严格，奇行四步抑扬，偶行三步抑扬，偶行押韵。男哲人说：世间唯税和死无由躲避；女诗人说：世间唯爱无可逃离。
